The marocchino has nothing to do with Morocco. It originated in the Piedmont region of Italy and the name derives from the color that closely resembles a high quality leather with the same name, which was popular in the early 20th century. The marocchino is an evolution from a traditional hot chocolate and coffee drink from Turin called “Bicerin”.
The glass called Kartio was designed by Finnish designer Kaj Franck in 1958.
